Valentine’s Day DIY Series Part 1: How to Make a Heart Garland
Valentine’s Day — a holiday of love and appreciation. It’s also the time for the greatest decoration crafts and handmade gifts!
Need a little something for your special someone? Make their day and decorate their space with a heart garland, just to let them know how much they mean to you!
Get what you need. In this case, all you will need is multicolored paper, a paper cutter and a stapler. Simple, right? Who knew Valentine’s Day could be this easy?
Take the paper and cut it into strips.(Pro tip: the dimensions 6”x.5” makes the most atheistic hearts. As always, though, to each the crafter’s own!) Try to make the strips as equal as possible so that they line up nicely with each other.
Take four of the strips and staple the bottoms together. If you’re using paper with color only on one side, make sure the two papers on the inside have the color facing outward, and the two outward papers have color hidden. (The reason will become clear, shortly.)
Pull down gently on the two outward papers, so that the resulting shape is a heart. Then, line up two more papers along the outside of the newly-made heart and staple the bottom together.
Repeat step four for as many times as you have strips of paper (or for as long as you want your heart garland to be).
Hang up that beautiful creation of yours and enjoy!
Remember: Valentine’s Day is a day of appreciation, and so is every day as well.
It’s always the little things that make the biggest difference.
